Karate

At Bishop’s College, Karate is more than a sport. It is a way to instill confidence, discipline, and mental fortitude in our students. 

With regular training sessions every Wednesday designed to refine technique, our students embrace the values of respect and perseverance and have showcased their skill in prestigious tournaments, bringing honor to Bishop’s College. 

Some of the past achievements of our team,

  • ISK All Island Championships 2024 – Senara De Alwis, Shenaya Rajasuriya, and Irushi Ranawansha won gold in Kata and Kumite, along with a Team Kata victory.
  • Sri Lanka Schools Junior Championship 2024 – Disuli Abeysinghe took 1st in Under-11 Kumite.
  • All Island School Junior Championship 2024 – Disuli secured another 1st place, this time in Under-12 Kumite.
  • 6th  International Open (India) – Senara made her mark, winning 1st in Kumite and 3rd in Kata.

We invite every student from Grade 4 onwards to join a team where discipline meets determination, and every challenge is a step toward greatness, our program empowers young athletes to push beyond limits, both on the mat and in life.
