Introduction of sign language to the curriculum

The introduction of Sign Language within Bishop’s College in 2024 marked a significant step towards advancing inclusivity and encouraging active participation by all students. “As a school, we wanted to be more inclusive,” shared Primary Headmistress Ms. Rochelle Tissaratchy.

Recognizing ongoing social changes, the school felt it vital to adapt. Training for the academic staff began under Mrs. Pavithra Sarangee, a specialist in Special Needs Education and Sign Language. Starting with the primary school, the curriculum will gradually extend to the senior school, fostering greater understanding and empathy.
