New Sports Scholarships

In 2025, three new scholarships were generously introduced to support students with different talents and needs. The Mrs. Ranee Krisnaratne Scholarship Fund was established to assist a needy student, ensuring she has the means to continue her education. The Mrs. Lakmali Yatawara Scholarship Fund was introduced to recognize and encourage a deserving sports student who has shown commitment and excellence in athletics. Additionally, the BC Batch of 2005 – A/L Scholarship was created to support a needy student who demonstrates both academic potential and active involvement in extra-curricular activities. These contributions reflect the donors’ commitment to nurturing talent and providing opportunities for students to excel in both academics and beyond. The school community is deeply appreciative of their generosity.

Promoting Sports at Bishop’s College

Lifesaving

Lifesaving, introduced as a sport at school in 2024 under Coach Mr. Mahesh Anudaththa, has grown from a 15-member team into a powerhouse. In their very first tournament, the Junior National Championships, the under-20 team emerged champions while finishing overall runners-up. Having completed CPR, Water Safety, and the ILS Lifesaver exams, the team went on to compete at the National Lifesaving Championships, achieving remarkable success and setting the stage for an exciting future.

The Inaugural BC vs. MC Basketball Encounter
