Badminton
Badminton stands as the fastest‑paced racket sport in the world with shuttlecock speeds reaching well over 200 miles per hour demanding exceptional agility, coordination, and split‑second decision.
Over the years, it has grown into one of the school’s most popular sports, drawing students with its mix of strategy, speed, and excitement.
At Bishop’s College many students actively take part, showing a deep passion for the sport. Our Badminton Team nurtures key values such as discipline, resilience, and respect, both on and off the court. Whether in singles or doubles, players learn to support one another and grow through healthy competition. Nearly 30 students participate with structured teams for U13, U15, U17 and U19 categories with the motive of building a strong team.
Some of the past achievements of our team,
- The U20 team emerged Second Runners Up at the National School Games Tournament
- The U19 Doubles team emerged Runners Up at Junior Nationals Badminton Championship
Looking ahead, we are now planning Inter‑house Badminton tournaments and additional friendly matches throughout the upcoming terms. These events will offer more structured competition, foster companionship across our houses, and provide each player with valuable on‑court experience.
