Water Polo

Waterpolo has been a part of Bishop’s College for a number of years, and has produced quite a few outstanding sportswomen who have gone on to represent Sri Lanka at International Water Polo Tournaments.

We have 2 main teams, the under 19 team and the under 15 team. Additionally we have recently introduced Flipper Ball for the primary students with the aim of promoting the sport amongst the younger students.

Annually the school team participates in a number of tournaments organised by both the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union and the Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association. These tournaments include the Ellawala League, Age Group Nationals, Nationals and Public Schools Tournament.

This year a few of our senior team members were selected to the National Water Polo Squad and they
currently attend weekly practice sessions.
