HISTORY

  • “Kala Vizna” was held along with the Tamil Literary Association of Bishop’s College and the proceeds contributed to the building fund.

2001:Staged the cultural show, ‘Kalai Mahal Vizha’ and donated 100,000(LKR) to the school building fund.

2003: Organized a memorable ‘Kalai Vizha’.

2005: We were placed first in an inter-school group singing competition

organized by St. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia.

2006: Organized the ‘Vaani Vizha’.

2007: Organized an inter-school quiz for the very first time.

2008: June 28-Organized an inter-school competition in collaboration

with the Tamil Literary Association.

September 11- Organized the ‘Vaani Vizha’ under the name,

“Abhinaya Hastham”.

2009: January 31- Went to the Ratmalana Hindu College Children’s  Orphanage and donated necessities.

Organized a Kolam Competition for our students of Grades 9 - 13.

Participated in the Inter-school competitions organized by Hindu College and Royal College.

July 29- Organized a workshop for the students of Grades 9-13 on religious festivals.

Organized ‘Kalai Vizha’.

2010: Organized ‘Vaani Vizha’.

The students celebrated Thai Pongal.

The students went to an Elder’s Home and spent time with them and donated necessities.

2011: We organized the ‘Kalai Vizha’ as well as the ‘Vaani Vizha’.

Took part in the Inter-school competition organized by Royal College.

The students were taken to the Ratmalana Hindu College Children’s Orphanage where they distributed certain necessities.

The students were taken to the Kotahena Ponnambala Vaneswaram temple on Founder’s day for special prayers.

2014:June 11- Organized the ‘Kalai Vizha’ in collaboration with the Tamil Literary Union.

Participated in the Inter-school competition hosted by St. Thomas College, Mt. Lavinia

2015:Organized an Inter-school competition amongst 13 schools.

Organized a food sale within the school premises.

  June 12- Organized the Annual ‘Kalai Vizha’ in collaboration with the Tamil Literary Union and the Tamil Drama Society.

 2016: February 25- Took the students to the ‘Munneswaram’ Kovil.

 June 24- Organized the ‘Kalai Vizha’ in collaboration with The Tamil Literary Association. 

2017:Participated in Inter-school competitions organized by other Colombo schools.

June 23- Organized the ‘Kalai Vizha’ in collaboration with the Tamil Literary and the Tamil Drama, Dance and Singing Association. 

2018: June 22- Organized the “Kalai Vizha '' in collaboration with the Tamil Literary Association and the Karnatic Singing and Bharatanatyam society.

Our girls actively participated in the competitions which were organized by the Hindu Society of St. Thomas College,Mount Lavinia.

October 20- Visited a children’s home. 

2019: March 6- Organized an event on Meditation.

 July 26-Organized the Annual ‘Kalai Vizha’ in collaboration with the Tamil Literary Association.

2020: February 26-We organized an event for the students of Grade   6-13 to improve their knowledge on religious festivals.

August 29- Hosted inter-house competitions for the students of  Grade 6-13.

RECENT EVENT

2021: June 11-Organized an online Mind Relaxing Program for the   students of Grades 6 - 13

        July 16-Organized a virtual entertainment event, ‘Abhinayam’

       Every year, our students take part in the Annual Religious Exams organized by the Vivekananda Organization.

       Everyday, the Hindu prayers take place with much spiritual enthusiasm and the teachers and students alike, contribute to it by telling everyone a story or a speech on any religious aspect.
