We Girl Guides at 7th Colombo have adapted the purpose of the WAGGGS and are dedicated to fulfilling our duties as responsible Guides.

History of the society
History
Girl Guiding at Bishop's College was established on 9th September 1921.
Girl Guide was first formed in Girls High school Kandy. As a result of that it was started in many schools all over Sri Lanka including Bishops’ College.
Ms. Dias was one of the captains who served at Bishop’s College for a long period of time. Once she passed away Ms.Swineetha took over our guiding company.
Notable achievements
2011
Yasara Ilangakoon and Menaka Rajapakse were among 15 Girl Guides who represented Sri Lanka at the 95th Girl Guide Anniversary Camp in Hong Kong
2014
Hiruni Cooray was chosen to participate in the International Girl Guide Camp ‘Explore 14’ which was held in Nothern Ireland
2015
Teshani Attanayake and Ovara Perera faced President Guide Award test and it it is after many years our Girl Guide Company was able to produce two President Guides
2017
Hiruni Cooray achieved the ‘Presidents Guide’ award.
2018
Binu Rajasooriya took part in MEDGEM(Mediterranean Jamboree )an International Guiding Jamboree,which took place in Ghajn Tuffieh National campsite,Malta, from the 1st of August - 8th of August.
2019
Hiruni Cooray have completed the last tier of guiding and have achieved the President’s Award Badge.
Mrs. Hiranthi Perera represented the Girl Guides Association at Sangam which is one of the Wold Centres

Centaury of excellence since Girl Guiding was started at Bishop’s College.

2017
Jumbo’17
Jumbo’17,the Girl Guides centenary camp was held from 23rd to 27th of August,at the ‘Sri Lanka Army Infantry Training Centre - Minneriya’. Celebrating 100 years of Girl guides Sri Lanka
A song book named ‘100 Melodies for 100 Years’ was launched by the Girl Guides of Bishop’s College,in order to mark a ‘century’ of excellence in Girl Guiding
2018
Aventura’18
Aventura’18 was held on the 24th of February, in recognition of our very own Guiding Captain, Ms. Srima Perera being promoted as the Assistant Chief Commissioner of Colombo.
2021
Aventura’ 21
Aventura’ 21, a program filled with fun activities was organised for our very own Little Friends. Celebtating 100 years of Girl Guiding at Bishop’s College.
Recent events and meetings

Special achievements by Nilshani de Silva
She took part at a discussion by the world association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts against gender based violence 2020
She addressed the education resource, research and information center at an event held by the Sri Lanka Girl Guide Association.
She achieved her blue all round cord from the Sri Lanka Girl Guide Association.
She participated at the young women leaders training organized by the world association of girl guides and girl scouts.
Sri Lanka Girl Guide Association presented her an award at the national award ceremony.
