Amazing Purple Race 2023
The Amazing Purple Race 2023 was organized by Bishop’s College Parent-Teacher Association. It was held on the 3rd and 4th of October in lieu of Children’s & Teacher’s Day. The event was held on two different days to maximize the experience for everyone. The primary Grade 5 and below had their event on the 3rd of October, whilst Grades 6 and upwards along with the staff had their event on the 4th of October. This special event was flagged off by our very own past pupil Jayanthi Kuru Uthumpala. Approximately 150 teams of 10 members each participated and it was a resounding success.
The PTA took this opportunity to express their love and gratitude towards children and teachers by reinforcing their sense of being valued and cherished. Moreover, the Amazing Purple Race was organized to engage the BC community in playful and recreational pursuits. This encouraged physical activity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, while also providing a platform for everyone to express themselves freely. From the game stations manned by volunteer parents dressed up in their lovely costumes to the ‘happening’ Disco in the Main Hall. It was truly an amazing sight to see children and teachers motivated and everyone present enjoying themselves immensely.
The proceeds of the Amazing Purple race will be used towards the Swimming Pool Washroom project by the PTA. The Bishop’s College PTA has maintained its customary high standards while ensuring the true Bishopian spirit “Non Sibi Sed Omnibus”
