Buddhist Society

Growing up in the shadow of Christ, Bishop's College has established the Buddhist Society for Buddhist children as a school for promoting religious coexistence. The Buddhist Society can be described as a society which gives opportunity to show the unity of coexistence given to all religions.

  • To promote Buddhist psychotherapy to produce a child with a calm mind and to celebrate Buddhist festivals.

History of the Buddhist society

 

Study of Buddhism in the middle and upper school was introduced to Bishop’s College in the year 1961 with the pluralistic outlook and the desire to foster religious values in each student by the former Principal Ms. Jayasuriya.
